The Stanley Cup Visited Us!

Veneto Trattoria was honored to host the famous Stanley Cup, prized trophy of the National Hockey League (NHL) On Thursday, September 7, 2013. Long time Veneto customer Sean Burke, formerly with the Phoenix Coyotes and now director of goaltending for the NHL Champion Las Vegas Golden Knights, arranged a stop for the traveling Stanley Cup and lunch for his local hockey friends.

The prestigious Stanley Cup is the oldest existing trophy awarded in North American professional sports and truly as its own fan base. Regardless of favorite hockey team, everyone admires this 130-year-old treasure that annually passes to the NHL league Champion with the team’s name engraved on the current base ring. The first presentation of the Stanley Cup was in Canada in 1893.

Any celebration at Veneto Trattoria calls for toasting with prosecco. Consuelo Soldan from Classico Fine Wines and Spirits was on hand with ample Isabella Prosecco imported from the Veneto region of Italy.
